Now you’ve arrived in Queenstown you’ll need to know how to get to The Remarkables Ski field.
The Remarkables ski field is about 45 mins drive from central Queenstown, heading through town into Frankton then up the Remarkables to the Ski Field.
Info&snow travel dailies to The Remarkables every day. We offer 25 different pick-up locations from within Central Queenstown, with our furthest pick up being in Fernhill. Our pick up locations are either in front of the hotel/hostel receptions or at a bus stop near the accommodation.
Our bus will get you to the Ski field before 9 am for when the lifts have opened. To book and to check your exact pick-up time and location from your accommodation please refer to our Ski Bus Transport Page or call our shop on: 03 4425958, which is open from 7:00am – 9pm every day.
For all of our pickups, it is important to be there 10 minutes before the pick-up time. In order to get up and down from the Remarkables on time, our bus does not wait for long.
It’s important to bring the right gear with you as you head up the mountain. Below is a here’s a brief list to get you started:
Within the Remarkables base, there is a café with hot food and drink. We always advise bringing some snacks and water to keep you hydrated and full of energy throughout the day.
You can rent skis and snowboard gear on the mountain if you wish, however it is more expensive to do so on the mountain instead of in town. If you are looking to hire out Skis or Snowboard we offer hires at very competitive rates, and as an added bonus you can leave the skis/snowboards in our shop, and we will put them on the bus for you for the next day. Hassle-free.
Our bus transport will sometimes leave the Remarkables area before returning for pick up therefor it is really important to make sure you have all your belongings off the bus before getting off. If you have belongings to store, there are lockers you can rent for the within the ski base or if you are comfortable many guests leave their backpacks on the floor outside the main building, which is normally safe just make sure you are not blocking any exits or causing any hazards.
After your adrenaline-filled day out on the slopes, you’ll be wanting to head back to town to rest up. We leave the Remarkable ski field at 4 pm, if you decide to come back down earlier, you can catch NZSKI shuttle.
Please always let our driver or our shop (phone: 03 4425958) know that you are coming down early. If not, we might send a rescue team looking for you if you do not appear for the bus.
